Jim Kilpatrick was diagnosed with liver disease in 2017 and was transplanted just 11 months later. His approach to life post-transplant is simple – life is to be enjoyed, not endured. His love for family and travel has certainly been fulfilled, crowned with a round the world trip in 2020 sadly interrupted by Covid.
A strong advocate for organ donation, Jim is now the Chairman of the Liver Support Group, coupling this with helping other patients along their transplant journey as a Patient Carer. “Without my donor Leslie having had the chat with his wife Val, I wouldn’t be here today. That brings home to our family just how vital organ donation is.”
