Ben Rutherford was born with biliary atresia. He spent most of his childhood with many hospital visits and feeling poorly, but in his head he wanted to do everything his friends did including football, badminton, golf – which he tried his best to keep up. However in his teenage years his energy levels began to dip and he struggled to keep active.
He finally got his liver transplant in March 2019 and we are so grateful for the brave family making the huge decision to proceed with organ donation.
Thanks to his donor Ben has got his energy back and is regularly playing football and golf, as well as walking his dog and working full time.
Organ donation has given Ben a chance to live his life to the full now and he’s loving every minute of it.
